This is the story of Madame Leota, a renowned spiritualist who was said to have had a head for materializing the disembodied. She meet her untimely demise after receiving a mysterious invitation requesting her services at nearby Gracey Mansion. The mansion was long rumored to be haunted by the spirit of a bride who died of a broken heart waiting for her husband-to-be to return from sea on the day of their weeding. Unfortunately, during the seance, Leota went into a trance so deep that she didn't see the obvious: the message requesting her services had been written on the back of an old wedding invitation. Leota's headless body was found the next morning. Exactly how Leota died - and at who's hands - is still very much a mystery. Some claim she made contact with the spirit of the long lost groom and became the victim of a mourning bride's jealous rage. Others suggest that in reaching through the veil that separates the natural and supernatural, Leota unleashed far more that she could handle. One thing is certain: now that she's passed over she's certainly in her element! Available in 11x14 inch or 16x20 inch. Portrait only, no frame included. |
